With the Synergy Cloud Hosting option, the district’s data is securely hosted in an environment that optimizes resource utilization in the remote data center, minimizing costs while providing the same levels of security as higher-tier options. Districts will receive advanced notification of impending Synergy software updates, as well as expected timetables for deployment.

For medium-size districts.
Synergy Premium Cloud Hosting shares some technology resources with other districts to help defray the overall cost of hosting. Synergy Premium Cloud districts share load balancers, web servers, and SQL instances, but have dedicated process servers which allows them to choose their own Synergy release schedule. In addition to the Production and Training environments included in all hosting platforms, Premium Cloud districts can choose to purchase optional environments for testing, quality assurance or other district-identified environments. If desired, direct access to the Synergy database using a point-to-point VPN connection can be purchased to allow for direct data manipulation and extraction. Optional work servers can be purchased to run SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Integration Services.

For medium-size to large districts.
Synergy Premium Plus Cloud Hosting is Edupoint’s highest level of hosting, providing dedicated web, process and database servers to offer the most performant option for larger districts. With a dedicated SQL Database Server, Synergy Premium Plus Cloud Hosting also allows districts to directly access their Synergy database—using a Point-to-Point VPN connection—to allow for direct data manipulation and extraction. Synergy Premium Plus Cloud Hosting districts can establish their own release management schedule and choose to purchase additional environments for testing, quality assurance or other district-identified uses. This level of hosting allows districts to choose different levels of High Availability (HA) and Business Continuity (Disaster Recovery or DR). Optional work servers can be purchased to run SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Integration Services.

For regional and county-level service agencies hosting member districts in the Edupoint Cloud.
The Service Agency will be provided with a VPN connection that will allow access to all hosted member district databases for direct data manipulation and extraction. Service Agencies will be provided with a test environment in order to review Edupoint Releases before deployment to their member districts. Once the Service Agency approves the new Edupoint release then all member districts will be updated during a scheduled maintenance window. This level of hosting allows consortiums to choose different levels of High Availability (HA) and Business Continuity (Disaster Recovery or DR).
