Grants/Cibola County Schools (NM) Selects Synergy Education Platform

Benefits include mobile capabilities, ease of use for teachers, and state reporting improvements

Edupoint Educational Systems announced today that Grants/Cibola County Schools (GCCS) has selected the company’s industry-leading Synergy® Student Education Platform for its K-12 student information and learning management needs, replacing PowerSchool® SIS and Illuminate DnA®. The district’s Synergy solution will include Synergy SIS, Synergy Online Registration, Synergy Assessment, Synergy MTSS, and Synergy Special Education (SE) in a cloud-hosted environment. GCCS serves nearly 3,500 students across 11 schools in Northwestern New Mexico.

Synergy Education Platform is a comprehensive student data management ecosystem, seamlessly integrated by design, that helps districts streamline processes and facilitate communication and collaboration across all sites while providing the real-time performance data needed to improve learning outcomes for students.

Grants/Cibola County Schools Superintendent Max Perez brought the idea of moving to Synergy to his district’s SIS specialist after hearing rave reviews from a contact at a nearby school district that had recently switched to Synergy. GCCS convened a cross-functional team of about a dozen members representing academic and administrative roles to evaluate Synergy on its overall functionality, user friendliness, ease of navigation, and ability to meet future needs.

“The demonstrations Edupoint provided made selecting Synergy a simple decision for us,” said Steve Brown, SIS Specialist at GCCS. “The attendance functionality and grading module were key, and we’re optimistic that Synergy will help our STARS coordinator produce more accurate and consistent reports. Our administrators spoke highly of the discipline features, including how accessible they are from anywhere with the mobile app, while our teachers liked the simplicity of adding assignments and assignment content in their gradebooks. They talked about how much easier it would be for students to get what they needed and understand teacher expectations.”

“Grants/Cibola County Schools recognized Synergy as a solution that could not only dramatically simplify and streamline their current day-to-day processes, but also handle whatever might come up in the future – including challenges that, as this past year has shown us, can require a great deal of nimbleness and flexibility,” said Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO at Edupoint. “We are so pleased that GCCS has come to us through the recommendation of another satisfied client district, and all of us here at Edupoint look forward to helping every stakeholder in the district succeed.”
