Gila Bend Unified School District (AZ) Selects the Synergy Education Platform
Edupoint® Educational Systems, a leading student information systems (SIS) provider for the national K-12 market, has been selected by the Gila Bend Unified School District (Gila Bend USD) in Arizona to implement its Synergy® Education Platform.
The rural district serves 450 K-12 students across two campuses in southwestern Arizona. Despite their small size, the district’s focus on student achievement required a fully integrated student data management solution that offered powerful reporting capabilities, promoted parent involvement, and provided educators with real-time insightful data. Although Gila Bend USD implemented a new SIS two years earlier, they found the new system cumbersome to use, especially in the area of state reporting processes, and they determined a need to replace the solution with a vendor partner that provided stronger customer support services for their users. The district assembled a diverse selection committee – including teachers, curriculum managers, counselors, and office staff – who determined that Synergy’s powerful feature set, combined with Edupoint’s support services and understanding of Arizona state reporting, was the right solution for the district.
“The Synergy solution provides the comprehensive SIS functionality that we need along with the configurability and usability necessary for a smaller district such as ours,” said Anna-Marie Perry, Business Manager for Gila Bend Unified School District. “Knowing that the Synergy SIS solution was originally developed for an Arizona district gives us confidence that we partnered with a vendor that truly understands what Arizona districts need, and will provide us with the necessary tools and support for years to come.”
The Synergy Education Platform provides powerful SIS functionality with an integrated standards-based grade book, parent and student portals, role-based mobile applications, curriculum and learning management, assessment analytics, online registration, and comprehensive state reporting functionality. Synergy’s flexible offerings allow districts to scale and configure the solution to meet their individual needs.
“As our latest Arizona district partner, we welcome the Gila Bend Unified School District to the Edupoint family” says Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO of Edupoint. “We share the district’s vision of ‘striving to maximize the educational potential of every student’ and are committed to providing them – and districts throughout the state – with the tools to harness both student and instructional data to inform teaching and positively impact student success.”
Gila Bend Unified School District was able to take advantage of pre-negotiated pricing available through the Mohave Arizona Cooperative to license the Synergy Education Platform, and the district plans to go live with Synergy in time for the start of the 2014/15 academic school year.
