Edupoint’s Growth in Michigan Continues with Alpena Public Schools’ Selection of Synergy
Edupoint® Educational Systems, a leading student information system (SIS) solution for the national K-12 market, has been selected by Alpena Public Schools and fellow consortium members to implement the Synergy® Education Platform. The centralized, web-based solution will ensure that all student and district data is managed effectively, as well as streamline processes, promote communication, and inform instructional decisions.
As one of the largest districts in northeastern Michigan, Alpena Public Schools provides technology services to several smaller neighboring districts, including Alcona Community Schools, Hillman Community Schools, and the Alpena-Montmorency-Alcona Educational Service District. Needing to replace a system that was no longer serviceable, the District issued an RFP for an integrated SIS and gradebook solution. After extensive product demonstrations, the District relied heavily on their diverse selection committee to make the final selection.
“Since we are part of a consortium, our selection process had to be rigorous and involve all of our stakeholders,” said Hans Stevens, Director of Elementary Instruction and Technology for Alpena Public Schools. “We selected Synergy due to its strong feature set and excellent support. Edupoint’s commitment to Michigan ensures that we’ll be well taken care of as we configure and implement Synergy for our students, parents, and staff.”
Synergy’s integrated TeacherVUE™ gradebook goes beyond simple classroom management and provides powerful instructional tools with a standards-based gradebook that supports individualized instruction, and helps teachers measure student performance with customizable performance bands and integrated achievement graphs. ParentVUE and StudentVUE web portals and mobile apps enable 24/7 access to instructional materials, assignments, and insight into student performance for parents and students alike.
“We are pleased to welcome Alpena Public Schools and their member districts to the Edupoint family,” says Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO of Edupoint. “As we continue to grow throughout Michigan, we are proud to partner with a district that places importance on empowering educators with insightful data to increase student success. We look forward to a longstanding partnership with APS and to continued growth in the state.”
Edupoint, in conjunction with Computer Management Technologies (CMT) – Edupoint’s Michigan-headquartered business partner – will provide support and professional services to the District, with plans to go live in time for the 2014/15 academic year.
