Chesapeake Public Schools (VA) Selects the Synergy Education Platform
Edupoint® Educational Systems, a leading student information system (SIS) provider for the national K-12 market, has been selected by Chesapeake Public Schools (CPS) to implement the Synergy® Education Platform. As the seventh largest school district in the Commonwealth of Virginia, CPS sought a solution that would go beyond simply managing student data to one that would harness both student and instructional data to inform teaching and positively impact student success.
Chesapeake Public Schools supports approximately 40,000 students across 54 campuses in southern Virginia. With a commitment to providing excellence in education for the children of Chesapeake, CPS needed a solution that would empower educators with insightful data and actively engage all stakeholders in the education process. After an extensive RFP process and solution demonstrations to selection committee members with wide-ranging district roles, CPS selected Synergy based on the strength and functionality of the Synergy SIS solution and its fully integrated Synergy® Special Education application and TeacherVUE™ suite of teaching and instructional solutions. CPS will also license Synergy® Technology, a rapid application development environment that will empower the district’s IT staff to enhance and extend their Synergy solutions as well as integrate other enterprise applications.
“We are pleased to welcome Chesapeake Public Schools to the Edupoint family,” says Rob Wilson, Edupoint’s President & Chief Innovation Officer. “The seamless integration of Synergy’s SIS, Special Education, and Instructional applications will help foster the connectivity of people and information amongst teachers, administrators, parents, and the students themselves to help promote student success. We look forward to continued growth in Virginia and to being Chesapeake Public Schools’ long-term partner.”
Chesapeake Public Schools joins a growing number of Virginia districts that utilize the Synergy Education Platform, which currently supports over 630,000 students throughout the state. Edupoint will provide the district with comprehensive implementation, data conversion, and training services to bring the district live with Synergy in time for the start of the 2015/16 academic school year.
